Feature Presentation:
Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE)
Presentation Details:
Algonquin College, Centre of Construction Excellence building, an educational mecca of high performance building solutions. It is targeting LEED-NC Platinum certification and a 60+% energy consumption reduction against the Model National Energy Code of Canada.
The presentation will also focus on the study the operation of a Water Source Heat Pump (WSHP) system that provides Hydronic heating in lieu of electric heat. The discussion will demonstrate the lower heating costs and lower electrical consumption of this WSHP that doesn’t operate the compressors while in heating mode. This Canadian innovation is now utilized across North America including NYC and San Francisco.
