Opening on April 2015, the Learning Resource Commons (LRC) is a LEED-Silver certified building and Humber's largest construction project to date.  This 6 story, 264,000 square foot building is a hub that hosts a new library, an art gallery and space for study and leisure.

Sustainability was a primary focus when designing the LRC, and key features include a green roof, 100 kW solar photo voltaic (PV) panels, and energy efficient lighting and HVAC systems.  The LRC features a hydronic heating system with condensing boilers and heat recovery.  Integrated design, high performance equipment and envelope contributes to a remarkable 41% energy cost saving compared to the MNECB.  Construction began in May 2013 and substantial completion was achieved on March 31, 2015.  The LRC, which has been designed and built to LEED Silver certification was designed by B+H Architects and constructed by PCL Constructors Canada Inc. Infrastructure Ontario, the Ministry of training, colleges and universities and Humber College collaborated to deliver the project.
